Resettlement at Afungi
On November 6, 2017, a moratorium on the resettlement in Afungi was signed.
Afungi is the area for the construction of the liquefaction plant (LNG) for natural gas and all the necessary infrastructure for it.
The Moratorium is used to distinguish individuals and households that are eligible for compensation and resettlement assistance from those who are not.
The ceremony was attended by H.E. Celmira da Silva, Governor of Cabo Delgado and several members of the provincial and district government, including representatives of Anadarko, Eni and African Century Real Estate Mozambique.
Taking advantage of the ceremony, the spiritual blessing of the site for the resettlement Village and the visit to the model house where also made, the Governor also laid the foundation stone for the resettlement village.
